Leaked concept art and a teaser trailer from IO Interactive last week confirmed what many thought was a joke: Agent 47 is heading to Madison, Wisconsin. And after digging into the rumors, this might be the most brutal, creative, and unsettling entry in the World of Assassination trilogy. The mission is called "The Icebreaker." Your target: Alistair Vane, a disgraced tech billionaire hiding in plain sight. Vane has purchased an entire, isolated estate on Lake Mendota. He’s surrounded by a private militia, paranoid security systems, and a winter festival designed to keep the locals friendly and the tourists distracted.
Just remember: if you see a bald man in a Packers hoodie eating a bratwurst at the capitol building… run.
It turns 47 into a ghost—a pale, silent figure in a wool coat, disappearing into a whiteout. If the leaks are true, Hitman: Madison could be a return to Contracts -style grit, wrapped in a deceptively cheerful Midwestern setting. It’s clever, cruel, and quiet.
When you think of Hitman , your mind probably goes to neon-lit nightclubs in Berlin, crowded fashion shows in Paris, or opulent skyscrapers in Dubai. You don’t think of frozen lakes, cheese curds, and the Wisconsin state capitol.
