They didn't have long to experiment. A sleek, black corvette dropped out of FTL, its hull marked with the golden scales of the Interstellar Guild of Manufacturers. It was the Sheriff, and the xTool was the outlaw.
Mila loaded a cartridge of raw carbon slurry—the xTool's "ink." She input the schematic for a simple M8 hex bolt. The machine hummed, a soft, melodic chime. A soft blue light bathed the chamber. Thirty seconds later, the printer bay hissed open.
