Windows Default Printer Now

In the print dialog, under , it said: Brother HL-L2395DW (Copy 4) . He recognized the name. That was the label printer in Shipping.

He leaned close to the monitor. The “Status” column for every other printer read: Idle . windows default printer

Every time he looked away, the default printer in Windows would slip, like a ghost turning a dial, back to Fax (a device that hadn't existed since 2017) or OneNote (which just ate the pages into the digital void). In the print dialog, under , it said:

Arjun reset the defaults globally. He ran a Group Policy update. He even wrote a little PowerShell script that forced the default to the main copier every five minutes.
