1. Overview: A "Locked Down" Windows 7 Windows Thin PC (WinTPC) was a specialized operating system released by Microsoft in 2011 . It was not a general-purpose OS like Windows 7 Home or Professional. Instead, it was a stripped-down, locked-down version of Windows 7 SP1 (32-bit only) designed specifically for thin client hardware .
