Aqeemus salah — establish the prayer. Total reading time: Approximately 4–5 minutes. Note: In a real Jummah setting, the khateeb should recite a short Qur’anic verse or dua aloud after the first khutbah before sitting, and then lead the two rak’ahs of Jummah prayer.
My dear brothers and sisters in Islam,
Brothers and sisters,
Innallaha wa malaa’ikatahu yusalluna ‘alan nabiyy. Ya ayyuhal ladheena amanu sallu ‘alayhi wa sallimu taslima. (O you who believe, send blessings upon the Prophet.)
Sit down briefly, then stand for the second. Second Khutbah Arabic opening: Alhamdulillah ‘ala kulli hal, wa salallahu ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala alihi wa sahbihi wa sallam. short jummah khutbah
Gratitude also means using our blessings to help others. If Allah gave you wealth, give charity. If He gave you knowledge, teach. If He gave you strength, help the weak. If He gave you a tongue, speak the truth and defend the oppressed.
Think about the blessings we often ignore: health, sight, hearing, food, water, faith, family, and the ability to pray. Even the air we breathe is a mercy. How many people wake up unable to walk, yet we walk without thinking? How many wish for one more day to repent, yet we waste hours? Aqeemus salah — establish the prayer
All praise is for Allah. We praise Him, seek His help, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and our bad deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can misguide; and whoever He allows to go astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
