Wedged between the emotional high of Monica and Chandler’s wedding (S7), the will-they-won’t-they climax of Ross and Rachel (S8), and the saccharine series finale (S10), Season 9 is the awkward, sweaty, chaotic middle child.

It’s the weakest full season of the original run (S10 is shorter, so it gets a pass).
