The (Multiversal Parsing Protocol) is a last-resort device Rick invented years ago but never used. It looks like a laser tag pistol attached to a Speak & Spell. When fired, it “re-encodes” a corrupted reality by finding the most stable version of an event and propagating it across the fractured timelines.

He tries to reset the M4P by using his own memory as a new anchor—but his memories are too traumatic and contradictory. The gun overheats, starts playing a haunting slideshow of Rick’s past (Diane’s death, young Beth, abandoned dimensions).

Here’s a story treatment for a fictional Rick and Morty episode, (a play on “M4P” as in MP4 file extension, but also “Map” and “Morph”). Rick and Morty S06E01 – “M4P” Cold Open: The Smith house is frozen mid-explosion. Debris, fire, and Summer’s flung sneaker hang motionless in the air. Rick’s voiceover: “When you screw up reality so bad even time wants a divorce, you get the M4P.”

Summer: “So did you fix… everything?” Rick: “Define ‘fix,’ Summer. The multiverse is now running on Jerry.exe as a background process. Expect minor glitches like extended warranty calls from God and pigeons that ask about your day.”

The screen glitches, turns beige, and a Sharp calculator appears.

Our Rick loses it.
