Elara stood there, rain streaming down her face. For the first time, she didn't run for cover. She tilted her head up and let the water land on her cheeks. It wasn't gray noise. It was a thousand tiny, cold, honest hands, trying to wake her up.
Grumbling, she stepped back into the downpour. She turned the card over. The ink bled slightly in the drizzle, making the words shimmer: rainy day quotations
She never bought an umbrella again.
