Founded in 2002 by the reclusive writer-director Arvind Prashanth, the studio operates out of a repurposed tea warehouse in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, with no vanity logo, no fanfare, and—until a surprise Palme d’Or in 2018—no interest in awards.
