Party Down S02e04 Ac3 ((better)) (2025)
Here’s a short piece inspired by Party Down Season 2, Episode 4 (“James Ellroy Funeral”):
The real Ellroy showed up halfway through, drunk, demanding whiskey and accusing the catering staff of being “the real criminals” for under-salting the sliders. Roman took this as a compliment. Ron tried to wrangle a “synergy meeting” between Ellroy and a local funeral home sponsor. Within ten minutes, the chocolate fountain had been tipped over (Lydia’s fault), and someone had lit a screenplay on fire as an offering. party down s02e04 ac3
The funeral for James Ellroy’s fictional stand-in was, predictably, a disaster before the first canapé hit the table. Roman had spent the morning trying to work his “hard-boiled noir” screenplay into the eulogy, muttering about “the dame who walked in with a corpse’s smile.” Casey kept trying to pitch her improv group’s “tragicomic funeral revue” to actual mourners. Kyle, dressed as a solemn pallbearer, was caught adjusting his biceps in a spoon’s reflection. Here’s a short piece inspired by Party Down
