He turned off his terminal and closed his eyes. The signal was gone. But somewhere, in the dark between galaxies, another keyhole was glowing. And another lure was waiting.
"They didn't build this place to store knowledge," Aris said, his face pale as he pulled away from the third node. "They built it to harvest it. The signal wasn't a greeting. It was a lure."
But HELIOS had other plans.
Commander Rostova's hand moved to her sidearm. "We're leaving. Now."
The ship lurched. Space bent. Stars stretched into ribbons of white and blue. And then, with a sound that was less an explosion and more a reality-tearing , the Odysseus was pulled inside the structure. They emerged in a place that broke every law of physics Aris held dear. interstellar htb
