Pour about 1 cup of white vinegar down the drain immediately after the baking soda. You’ll hear fizzing and bubbling – that’s normal and exactly what you want. The chemical reaction helps break up the clog.

Quickly cover the drain opening with a plug or a damp cloth. This traps the fizzing reaction inside the pipe, increasing pressure to dislodge the clog. Let it work for 15–30 minutes .

After waiting, remove the cover and slowly pour another kettle of boiling water down the drain. This flushes away the loosened debris.

Boil a full kettle or large pot of water.

Slowly pour the boiling water directly into the drain. This helps soften grease, soap scum, and debris.
