If you have files stored on a Network Attached Storage (NAS), a shared folder on another PC, or a corporate server, constantly browsing "Network" to find them is tedious. Mapping a drive solves this by assigning that shared folder a drive letter (like X: or Z: ), making it appear right next to your C: drive in File Explorer.

Open File Explorer . You can click the folder icon on the taskbar or press Windows + E on your keyboard. If you have files stored on a Network

In the left-hand navigation pane, right-click on "This PC" . (If you don't see "This PC", scroll down.) Open File Explorer

If the network folder requires a password, Windows will prompt you for your credentials. Enter them and check to avoid typing the password every time.
